Using the app

Read a temperature

Move the map to the coast, then select a coloured sea cell. The detail sheet shows temperature class, valid time, model depth, native resolution, source and quality status.

Use your location

Tap the location control only when you want to inspect your position. Permission is optional; the rest of the map remains usable if you decline.

Understand the colour

The legend pairs every colour with a numeric range and pattern. A smaller-looking map tile does not mean the underlying scientific model has finer resolution.

No-data states

• Outside coverage: the selected point is beyond the published area.
• Land mask: the source classifies the point as land.
• Missing source value: the source has no usable value for that cell.
• Timestamp unavailable: the requested valid time is not published.

These are scientific availability results. They are never purchase prompts.

Values are model estimates, not direct beach measurements, safety advice or a guarantee of local swimming conditions. Always read the source, depth, valid time and native resolution shown in the app.
